Fun In The Sun Robotics Education & Competition Foundation Signature Event

Students from across the country and locales around the world joined Lake County Schools for Fun in the Sun, a Robotics Signature Event taking place Monday, Dec. 18, through Wednesday, Dec. 20, at the Hyatt Regency in Orlando.

Students in 60 teams from middle schools and 60 teams from elementary schools will compete for a chance to land a spot at the 2024 VEX Worlds Competition.

The open-invitation event, planned by Cypress Ridge Elementary, East Ridge Middle and Pinecrest Lakes Charter schools, is expected to draw about 500 participants. About half of the registered participants are from Central Florida. Others come from locales much farther away, such as California, the state of Washington, Hawaii, Canada and Kazakhstan.
